A Bright New Space at Raintree House

Our dedication to the young people of New Orleans presents opportunities to breathe life into the institutions that provide safe spaces for children and youth in need. Raintree Children & Family Services has done that for nearly 100 years with Raintree House. While touring the Raintree facilities, the Palmisano Foundation team saw an opportunity to enhance the area most utilized by its residents - the recreation & game room. So we got to work!

"The project consisted of removing all dated furniture, finishes and rejuvenating the area with modern LVT flooring, furniture, and fresh paint," Palmisano Foundation board member William Cotten recalls. Cotten, other foundation board members and volunteers were happy to put their tradesman hats on for the renovations.

Alden Howard, Raintree Director of Development:

"One of the most important things about Raintree House is that it provides a true home for our residents while they are staying with us! The Palmisano Foundation’s renovations have breathed new life into Raintree House, and our Raintree House girls could not be more grateful to have a beautiful home to spend the holidays in. A huge thank you to the Palmisano Foundation and their volunteers for all their hard work in making this project a reality!"

Thanks to a team of dedicated Impetus volunteers and support from our local trade partners QC Services, Woolery Painting, and RCC Flooring, the effort was a tremendous success and is now providing a new, bright space for residents to welcome the holidays!
