Junior Achievement Biztown

Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans delivers a variety of educational programs in finance and economics presented to students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Palmisano has been involved in JA in many capacities, including opening a storefront within JA’s BizTown. The program features a kid-city that combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular program allows elementary students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor in an effort to help students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

Palmisano partnered with several subcontractors to renovate and open a storefront within the simulated town. The office space includes a work bench for students to gain hands on collaboration and project management experience through assembling mini-libraries for their schools. Palmisano employees prefabricate the components, deliver to BizTown, and volunteer their time to help the students.
